# Partner

Use the Partner portal to create financing requests, manage deal information, and hand off complete packages to the bank.

The Partner portal supports partners, also called brokers, who bring financing requests to the bank. Use it to create applications, maintain borrower information, upload documents, and track handoff to the lending team.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Partner** is the neutral name this documentation uses for the portal and its role. On screen, the portal title is **Broker Portal** by default. Your tenant can configure a different title in [Branding](broken://pages/X8mLUQoeSD9mpfXL4o18).
{% endhint %}

### Who uses this portal

| Role                 | Workspace                                                 | Start here                                               |
| -------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Partner (broker)** | Customers, applications, deal documents, and shared deals | [Partners overview](broken://pages/s1DiY1T4Jnaus1dtS9Ym) |

Partners sign in on the same page as borrowers (`/borrower/login`) and then open this portal. See [Sign in and create an account](broken://pages/mkKRbcxw2KtsLFxqODFM).

### Work through a deal

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Create an application

Start a financing request online or upload a completed application. Review the captured borrower and request details before you submit.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Complete the package

Add parties, collateral, financing information, and the documents the bank needs to review the request.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Track the handoff

Monitor the application in your dashboard or portfolio. Review shared financial analysis and credit memos when the loan officer enables access.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

### Access and scope

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="What partners can do" %}

* Create and submit applications.
* Manage customers, deal details, and documents.
* Review shared financial analysis and credit memos.
  {% endtab %}

{% tab title="What the bank controls" %}

* Which products and intake questions are available.
* Whether Portfolio View is available.
* Whether financial review and credit memo tabs are shared.
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

{% hint style="success" %}
Keep borrower details, the credit request, and supporting documents in the same application. The bank continues work on that record after handoff.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.uptiq.ai/commercial-lending/getting-started/portals-and-roles/partner.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
