# Platform organization

Learn the hierarchy that settings, permissions and data follow, from tenant and company down to application, entity and loan account.

Everything in Commercial Lending follows one hierarchy. Settings, permissions and data all follow it.

| Level | What it is | Where it is documented |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Tenant** | Your organization's instance of the platform. Tenant-wide settings, platform roles, branding, and integrations live here. | [Administration overview](broken://pages/R7BzIKEGwDgA9C2crw0G) |
| **Company**      |
A lending business inside your tenant, with its own users, teams, products, and spread and covenant configurations.

The UI calls a company an account; the two words mean the same thing.
| [Company hub](broken://pages/1f520qLQZX4riq4OaJV6)                    |
| **Loan product** |
A reusable configuration that every application created from it inherits.

A product must be both Active and Published before new applications can use it.
        | [Product configuration overview](broken://pages/8XjuxtKEaCOf1eAeUy41) |
| **Application**  | One financing request, also called a *deal*.                                                                                                                                                                    | [Loan stages](/commercial-lending/getting-started/loan-stages.md)     |
| **Entity** | Each party on an application: a business borrower, an individual guarantor, or a property. Documents, financials, background reports, and covenants attach to entities, not to the application as a whole. | [Entity page](broken://pages/8e85q76D0mvxqBTjiLnp) |
| **Loan account** | The booked loan after an application reaches **Closed**. Covenants and reviews are tracked against loan accounts. | [Loan accounts](broken://pages/9TlAoueET4bz7Ghm30HL) |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.uptiq.ai/commercial-lending/getting-started/concepts/how-the-platform-is-organized.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
